Scion xB Base 2011

Car reviewers said the 2011 Scion xB has a lot going for it. There is plenty of space in the back seat, which is uncommon in this class. Standard interior features include a Pioneer stereo, auxiliary and USB audio ports and steering wheel-mounted audio and cruise controls. There’s only one trim, but models can have additional features such as satellite radio, Bluetooth, an upgraded stereo and navigation. Standard safety features on the xB include traction control, electronic stability control, electronic brake-force distribution and anti-lock brakes.

Reviewers said the 2011 Scion xB is stylish, spacious and filled with standard features, but if you’re looking for great fuel economy, the xB comes up short. With both the standard manual transmission and the available automatic, the Scion xB averages 22/28 mpg city/highway. One reason why the xB’s ratings are low for the class is because its engine is larger and more powerful than most engines in the class. But considering that the xB has as much overall cargo space as many compact SUVs, those fuel economy ratings aren’t too bad. On the other hand, some test drivers thought the xB’s engine lacked power when passing on the highway and noted that the 2011 xB leans more than they’d like during turns.
